    ASI ADDS TO MANUFACTURING TEAM, FEBRUARY 2020

    ASI announces the hiring of Branden McMahon to our mechanical/assembly department and manufacturing team. Branden grew up in Marinette, Wisconsin, and graduated from Marinette High School in 2019. Branden learned welding in high school and formerly worked building pressure vessels at Samuel Pressure Vessel. Branden currently lives in Marinette and enjoys working on his 2006 Pontiac G6 and 2000 GMC 2500. We welcome Branden to our team.

    ASI ADDS MACHINE OPERATOR TO MANUFACTURING TEAM, JANUARY 2020

    ASI announces the hiring of Nick Kitowski to our machine department and manufacturing team. Nick grew up in Junction City, Wisconsin, and currently lives in Manawa. He has 20 years of work experience at the Waupaca Foundry. Nick is a hunter, fisherman, and Harley motorcyle collector and rider. Nick brings a wealth of experience and skills with him and we welcome him to our growing team.

    ASI HIRES NEW PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN, JANUARY 2020

    ASI announces the hiring of James Levin in the role of Production Technician. James is a recent graduate of UW-Platteville where he earned a B.S. in Mechnical Engineering. James' primary responsibility will be to serve as the intermediary between our engineering department and the manufacturing floor. Originally from Rockford, Illinois, James enjoys watching MMA boxing and playing poker.

    ASI was at UW-Platteville on February 3-4 for another successful Career Fair. We met several promising candidates and look forward to bringing prospective hires to our facility for interviews.

    ASI ATTENDS MANUFACTURING FIRST EXPO IN GREEN BAY, WI, OCTOBER 30 2019

    ASI attended the Manufacturing First Expo & Conference at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The event promotes careers in manufacturing and ASI spoke to many high school and college students about manufacturing job opportunities currently available at ASI.

    ASI attended the UW-Platteville Career Fair to meet with college students about the many opportunities and careers available at ASI. We spoke with many qualified candidates about ASI's current employment openings.

    ASI​ hosted a summer picnic to celebrate its employees. Festivities included a taco truck, bouncy house, shop versus office tug of war, safety harness competition, and bocce ball. 

    ASI EXPANDS ENGINEERING TEAM, JULY 2019

    ​ASI is happy to announce the addition of Neal Neumann to our engineering team. Neal was one of ASI's first hires more than 30 years ago and he has recently rejoined the engineering team at ASI. Neal has more than three decades of experience designing and engineering dryers for the converting and graphic arts industries. Neal's experience, expertise, and proficiency in dryer design is an asset to ASI and to our customers.

    ASI is currently hiring for the following positions:

    • ACCOUNTANT:  ASI is currently seeking a qualified individual for a full-time accounting position. Desired qualifications and skills include:

      • basic accounting knowledge​ and Associate Degree in accounting;

        • Bachelor Degree and/or work experience in accounting a plus;

      • strong computer skills;

        • IT skills a plus;​

      • solid problem solving skills;

      • ability to work independently and in a team environment;

      • excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Responsibilities would include:

    • process accounts receivable cash receipts and handle local deposits;​

    • assist with accounts payable postings and process weekly check run;

    • maintain all records related to accounts payable and accounts receivable;

    • create customer invoices for parts orders and progressive billing schedules;

    • call on past due accounts, perform credit checks on new customers, and recommend terms to sales department;

    • post time transactions, requests for time off, and serve as back-up for biweekly payroll;

    • reconcile credit card statements in accordance with company policy;

    • process and verify expense reports and service invoices;

    • generate sales reports for management and other departments as required;

    • perform customer/job order entry, change orders, and close orders/jobs;

    • complete line of credit draws based on cash requirements;

    • perform day-to-day and monthly general ledger entries as required;

    • assist in information gathering and organization for annual tax preparation, insurance audits, and all other audits;

    • handle all other accounting and administrative duties as necessary.

           

    • INDUSTRIAL PAINTER/MANUFACTURING SHOP TRADESPERSON: ASI is currently seeking a qualified individual for an industrial coating and painting position. Applicant would also assist on the manufacturing floor with other duties as workload required. Desired qualifications and skills include:

      • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent;

      • 2-5 years of industrial finishing, coating, or painting experience;

        • Previous manufacturing floor experience a plus;

        • Basic computer and data entry skills a plus;

        • Working knowledge and experience with hand tools a plus;

      • Ability to comprehend blueprints, drawings, cutting orders, bills of material, and project plans;

      • Knowledge of and adherence to hazardous waste procedures;

      • Attention to detail and output quality;

      • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;

      • Ability to stand on ladders, kneel, bend down, and stretch to apply masking tape and spray painting;

      • Effective communication skills.

    • Responsibilities would include:

      • Inspecting, cleaning, and preparing part surfaces for paint;

      • Masking parts and plug holes to print notes to prevent overspray;

      • Using spray equipment, including conventional HVLP and electrostatic equipment;

      • Applying primers and topcoats with high level of consistency and quality;

      • Repair cosmetic defects using fillers, putties, and tools;

      • Work in other areas, such as machine or assembly departments, when needed.​

    • FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN/ENGINEER: ASI is currently seeking a qualified individual to provide technical service and customer support during on-site installations and start-ups and in-house phone and parts requests. Desired qualifications and skills include:

      • a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a related field OR one year relevant experience and training OR equivalent combination;

      • HMI and PLC software programming skills (Allen Bradley RSLogix and Panelview preferred) or willingness to learn, working knowledge of AutoCAD a plus;

        • design and write programming based on consultations with controls manager, project engineers, and third-party consultants;​

        • conduct tests of written logic and workstation screens, including on-line capabilities, network communications, verification of on-screen addressing, and safety alarms;

      • excellent troubleshooting skills, including working knowledge of a multimeter, hand tools, and other diagnostic equipment;

        • set up and troubleshoot gas burners, fans, wiring, piping, air lines, retraction systems, and switches​;

      • ability to install ASI equipment to specifications and schematics;

      • willing and able to travel 40-60% of the time and work overtime and weekends if needed;

      • ability to work with customers in a competent and professional manner and build a rapport with end-users, installation crews, and third-party consultants;

      • assist in the design and review of control schematics and electrical drawings;

      • excellent written and verbal communication skills;

        • write and review end-user and technical documentation and manuals;​

        • prepare timely and detailed service reports;

      • self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational, time-management, and  problem-solving skills;

      • detail oriented individual with a positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple job assignments.

    • MANUFACTURING SHOP TRADESPERSON--WELDER/FABRICATOR/MACHINE OPERATOR: ASI is currently seeking qualified individuals to grow our manufacturing team. Attendance must be a priority. Desired qualifications and skills include:

      • minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent;

        • 1-3 years of relevant experience a plus;​

      • ability to setup and operate shop machinery and tools, such as press brakes, band saws, plasma tables, and shears;​

      • ability to fabricate industrial converting dryers using MIG welding, riveting, drilling, cutting, and grinding steel;

        • welding experience and/or certification a plus;​

      • ability to read blueprints and job order specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling, and instructions;​

      • ability to verify conformance to blueprints and specifications using precise measurements, levels, and tools;

      • a team player who can work diligently and accurately with minimal supervision;

      • exceptional organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment;

      • great communication skills and receptive to learning new skills, being trained, and constructive feedback;

      • physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds and endure climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling.
