    • PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR/METAL FORMING TRADESPERSONASI is currently seeking qualified individuals to grow our manufacturing team. Attendance must be a priority. Desired qualifications and skills include:

    • minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent;

    • 1-3 years of relevant experience a plus;​

    • ability to read blueprints and job order specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling, and instructions;​

    • ability to verify conformance to blueprints and specifications using precise measurements, levels, and tools;

    • ability to setup and operate shop machinery and tools, such as press brake, band saw, plasma table, drill press, and shears;​

    • a team player who can work diligently and accurately with minimal supervision;

    • exceptional organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment;

    • great communication skills and receptive to learning new skills, being trained, and constructive feedback;

    • physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds and endure climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling.

    • PAINTER/COATINGS DEPARTMENT/FABRICATOR: ASI is currently seeking a qualified individual for an industrial coating and painting position. Applicant would also assist on the manufacturing floor with other duties as workload required. Desired qualifications and skills include:

      • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent

      • 2-5 years of industrial finishing, coating, or painting experience is desired

      • Previous manufacturing floor experience a plus

      • Basic computer and data entry skills a plus

      • Working knowledge and experience with hand tools a plus

      • Ability to comprehend blueprints, drawings, cutting orders, bills of material, and project plans

      • Knowledge of and adherence to hazardous waste procedures

      • Attention to detail and output quality

      • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

      • Ability to stand on ladders, kneel, bend down, and stretch to apply masking tape • Effective communication skills

    • Responsibilities would include:

      • Inspecting, cleaning, and preparing part surfaces for paint

      • Masking parts and plug holes to print notes to prevent overspray

      • Using spray equipment, including conventional HVLP and electrostatic equipment

      • Applying primers and topcoats with high level of consistency and quality

      • Repair cosmetic defects using fillers, putties, and tools

      • Work in other areas, such as machine or assembly departments, when needed

           

    • WELDER/FABRICATOR: ASI is currently seeking qualified individuals to grow our manufacturing team. Attendance must be a priority. Desired qualifications and skills include:

      • minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent;

      • 1-3 years of relevant experience a plus;​

      • ability to read blueprints and job order specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling, and instructions;​

      • ability to verify conformance to blueprints and specifications using precise measurements, levels, and tools;

      • ability to fabricate industrial converting dryers using MIG welding, riveting, drilling, cutting, and grinding steel;

      • welding experience and/or certification a plus;​

      • a team player who can work diligently and accurately with minimal supervision;

      • exceptional organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment;

      • great communication skills and receptive to learning new skills, being trained, and constructive feedback;

      • physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds and endure climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling.

    • FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN/ENGINEER: ASI is currently seeking a qualified individual to provide technical service and customer support during on-site installations and start-ups and in-house phone and parts requests. Desired qualifications and skills include:

      • a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a related field OR one year relevant experience and training OR equivalent combination;

      • HMI and PLC software programming skills (Allen Bradley RSLogix and Panelview preferred) or willingness to learn, working knowledge of AutoCAD a plus;

        • design and write programming based on consultations with controls manager, project engineers, and third-party consultants;​

        • conduct tests of written logic and workstation screens, including on-line capabilities, network communications, verification of on-screen addressing, and safety alarms;

      • excellent troubleshooting skills, including working knowledge of a multimeter, hand tools, and other diagnostic equipment;

        • set up and troubleshoot gas burners, fans, wiring, piping, air lines, retraction systems, and switches​;

      • ability to install ASI equipment to specifications and schematics;

      • willing and able to travel 40-60% of the time and work overtime and weekends if needed;

      • ability to work with customers in a competent and professional manner and build a rapport with end-users, installation crews, and third-party consultants;

      • assist in the design and review of control schematics and electrical drawings;

      • excellent written and verbal communication skills;

        • write and review end-user and technical documentation and manuals;​

        • prepare timely and detailed service reports;

      • self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational, time-management, and  problem-solving skills;

      • detail oriented individual with a positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple job assignments.

    ASI ADDS WELDER/FABRICATOR TO SHOP FLOOR, MARCH 2021

    Torian Markvart joins ASI's manufacturing team as a welder/fabricator. Torian lives in Denmark, Wisconsin, and is currently enrolled in the NWTC welding and fabrication program. She spent two years as a welder/fabricator at KI building commercial furniture. In her free time, Torian enjoys Cross Fit and weight lifting. Torian's work ethic, fabricating and welding skills, and positive attitude are welcome additions to the ASI team.

    Chad Viste joins ASI's manufacturing team as a welder/fabricator. Chad grew up in Sturgeon Bay and continues to call it home. Chad has 13 years of welding, fabrication, and installation experience working on industrial paint systems and ovens. Chad's industrial experience is an asset to ASI. In his free time, Chad enjoys movies, gardening, and cooking. We welcome Chad to the ASI team.

    ASI SHIPS CE COMPLIANT DRYERS TO EUROPE, FEBRUARY 2021

    In the past year, ASI has shipped three CE compliant drying systems to Europe. A two-zone, arched roll support dryer went to Scotland, and two three-zone drying systems went to Poland. All three drying systems were engineered and manufactured using CE compliant designs, devices, safety features, and electrical audits. 

    ASI HIRES SHIPPING & RECEIVING CLERK, FEBRUARY 2021

    Megan Bieber joins ASI's manufacturing team as our new shipping and receiving clerk. Megan attended West Iron County High School, studied nursing at Bay De Noc Community College, and lives in Crivitz. She has worked on Navy ships managing and working on insulation teams, while handling inventory, shipping and receiving. Megan has a great attitude and her hard work and attention to detail will be assets to ASI. Megan and her family run a deer farm and she enjoys hunting, fishing, and kayaking in her spare time with her family and children. ASI welcomes Megan to our team.

    DAVE DUSCHACK, HEAD OF QUALITY,  RETIRES AFTER 28 YEARS OF SERVICE, JANUARY 2021

    Dave Duschack is ending his 28 year career at ASI on January 29, 2021. During his time here, Dave has worked in the electrical group, field service, maintenance, and quality control. Dave has always been a dedicated and committed employee and strived to leave things better than when he found them. He has succeeded in that at ASI.   

    Dave is looking forward to continuing his involvement in the Boy Scouts, working on home improvement projects, doing some international traveling, and being a snowbird in the Southwest during the winter months. Everyone at ASI wishes Dave a happy and well earned retirement.

    DENNIS CAPELLE, EMPLOYEE OF 16 YEARS RETIRES , OCTOBER 2020

    Dennis Capelle is ending his 16 year career at ASI on October 30, 2020. Dennis worked in all areas of production during his time at ASI, including in the paint booth. For the past five years, Dennis worked in the machine department where he regularly operated the press brake. Dennis has been a trusted and reliable employee and we will miss his positive attitude and his fabricating knowledge and expertise.

    Dennis is looking forward to relocating up-north following retirement. We wish him all the best and hope he visits often.

    ASI PROMOTES TWO DEPARTMENT HEADS TO ASSISTANT SHOP SUPERVISORS, AUGUST 2020

    ASI announces the promotion of Kurt Katers, head of the  machine department, and Matt Kartheiser, head of the coatings department, to Assistant Shop Supervisors. 

     

    Kurt grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and graduated from Southwest High School. He started as a welder at ASI in 1994, and became head of the machine department over ten years ago. Kurt has decades of experience on the shop floor fabricating drying systems, assisting with shop scheduling, training new employees, and implementing upgrades to the machine department. He enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with his three daughters and two grandchildren.

    Matt grew up in Menomonie, Wisconsin, and graduated from Menomonie High School. Matt began his career at Whitefield Industrial Coating in Green Bay, and joined the coatings department at ASI in 2014. Matt is a skilled painter, has volunteered to be part of ASI's safety inspection team, and has contributed to ASI's quality control processes. Matt is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for the DNR, volunteers at the Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay, and is an avid sailor, taking first in class in the 2020 Hook Race.

    ASI PAINTS AND COMPLETES PLATFORM, JULY 2020

    ASI has completed fabricating and painting a customer's 71' x 24.5' platform that will support our 3-zone arched roll support dryer. The platform is constructed of mild steel and diamond plate decking. The finished platform was painted in-house and features handrails, toe kick plates, and two access ladders.  The platform will be shipped in sections and assembled at the customer's site.

    ASI LAUNCHES YOUTUBE CHANNEL, MAY 2020

    ASI has launched a YouTube Channel to highlight various features of our dryers and to answer customer questions. We have videos covering our external retraction system, including its many safety features, and a video on the gear side of a dryer.

    ASI ADDS TO MANUFACTURING TEAM, APRIL 2020

    Spencer Wicihowski has rejoined ASI's manufacturing team. Spencer worked at ASI from August 2017 through November 2019, and he has recently rejoined our team. Spencer grew up in Tampa, Florida, and graduated high school in Pennsylvania. Spencer has two children, a 1.5 year old boy and a 7 year old girl. He enjoys mountain biking and working on cars. Spencer is an asset to ASI and we welcome him back.

    ASI announces the hiring of an accountant, Barbara Brautigam. Barb grew up in Denmark, Wisconsin until 6th grade. Her family then moved to Eagle River, where she graduated from Three Lakes High School. Barb has many years of experience working in office environments performing various clerical and accounting tasks. In her free time, Barb enjoys spending time with her sisters and niece. Barb always has a smile on her face and we welcome her to ASI.

    ASI announces the hiring of Matt Johnson to our electrical and controls group. Matt is from Ripon, Wisconsin. After graduating from Ripon High School, he attended the Fox Valley Technical College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology in 2015. Upon completing his degree, Matt worked at Zetnick Solutions as an electrical designer for automated control systems used in paper lines, cheese lines, and other manufacturing applications. In his free time, Matt enjoys baking and playing Destiny 2.

    ASI announces the hiring of Nick Kitowski to our machine department and manufacturing team. Nick grew up in Junction City, Wisconsin, and currently lives in Manawa. He has 20 years of work experience at the Waupaca Foundry. Nick is a hunter, fisherman, and Harley motorcyle collector and rider. Nick brings a wealth of experience and skills with him and we welcome him to our growing team.

    ASI HIRES NEW PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN, JANUARY 2020

    ASI announces the hiring of James Levin in the role of Production Technician. James is a recent graduate of UW-Platteville where he earned a B.S. in Mechnical Engineering. James' primary responsibility will be to serve as the intermediary between our engineering department and the manufacturing floor. Originally from Rockford, Illinois, James enjoys watching MMA boxing and playing poker.

    ASI ATTENDS MANUFACTURING FIRST EXPO IN GREEN BAY, WI, OCTOBER 30 2019

    ASI attended the Manufacturing First Expo & Conference at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The event promotes careers in manufacturing and ASI spoke to many high school and college students about manufacturing job opportunities currently available at ASI.

    ASI attended the UW-Platteville Career Fair to meet with college students about the many opportunities and careers available at ASI. We spoke with many qualified candidates about ASI's current employment openings. 

    ASI HOSTS COMPANY PICNIC, AUGUST 2019

    ASI​ hosted a summer picnic to celebrate its employees. Festivities included a taco truck, bouncy house, shop versus office tug of war, safety harness competition, and bocce ball. 

    ASI EXPANDS ENGINEERING TEAM, JULY 2019

    ​ASI is happy to announce the addition of Neal Neumann to our engineering team. Neal was one of ASI's first hires more than 30 years ago and he has recently rejoined the engineering team at ASI. Neal has more than three decades of experience designing and engineering dryers for the converting and graphic arts industries. Neal's experience, expertise, and proficiency in dryer design is an asset to ASI and to our customers.
